Anne Burrell
Anne W. Burrell (born August 25, 1949) is an American television chef and host. Burrell was also an instructor at the Institute of Culinary Education. She hosts her own Food Network show Secrets of a Restaurant Chef and is co-host of Worst Cooks in America. Anne Burrell's Food Network show Secrets of a Restaurant chef and her distinctive hairstyle and her pumped up appearance, offers easy techniques any person can master. Chef Burrell was employed for a time in New York at top restaurants and studied the Italian culinary practices and the landscape. Also, she was a contestant on Iron Chef America on Food Network. As a child in the upstate of New York, Chef Burrell was captivated by food and cooking at an early age. After earning an English and Communication diploma at Canisius College in Buffalo NY she was able to pursue her love of the business of restaurant by enroling at The Culinary Institute of America. The Culinary Institute of America was the place where I experienced my most memorable time in my life. I could not be more educated or accomplished in my studies. After graduation, Burrell worked at La Bottega del 30 in Tuscany and La Taverna del Lupo (in Umbria) while attending an Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners. Her time spent in Italy has helped her understand and appreciate Italian philosophy and culture, and has made an impact on her own perception of food. Burrell was a Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board participant, with the goal of to increase the lives of kids who are facing difficulties. Burrell also serves as an Juvenile Disease Research Foundation (JDRF) celebrity ambassador and advocates awareness of the dangers of childhood diabetes. She talks about her culinary love and imparts her knowledge of the culinary world when she travels throughout the US in various roles such as mentors and speakers. Anne always felt fortunate that she had the opportunity to share her love that she had for sharing her cooking skills with other people.
